Pool Parties
(Age 6 and up) Make a splash at your next party! Enjoy 2 hours of exclusive use of our Longenbaugh pool. Enjoy our slides, basketball equipment, noodles, float belts and more.
Deposit: $50 nonrefundable deposit required.
Party includes: lifeguards, BBQ grill, invitations, bleacher seating and 2, 6-foot tables.

Master Swim Schedule
(Age 18 and up) All levels welcome, including beginner, intermediate and advanced. Whether swimming for fitness or training for a triathlon, our coached practice is for you. Must be able to swim continuous laps with some break. Registration is ongoing and can be completed at the Welcome Center.

Scuba
YMCA is the oldest scuba instruction agency in the world. Founded in 1959, the YMCA remains the highest rated and premier training program available. You will carry a YMCA certification card with pride, as it is accepted and recognized all over the world!
Denis Boulanger is a certified YMCA Silver instructor who has been teaching for 15 years. He will give you training based on his certification and on his experience as an open water diver.
He has dived in many diverse locations all over the world. Registration is available at the Langham Creek Family YMCA or you can register on line at www.ymcahouston.org.

Scout Program
The YMCA Scout Program is designed for scouts that have the skills to meet the particular badge or swim level test, and to provide a place for the scout to show those skills to a person certified to sign off on the skills completed. We will provide a YMCA certified Lifeguard and Swim Instructor.
Qualifications we can accomodate: Girls Scout Swim Level test, Girls Scout Safe Boater test, Boy Scout 1st & 2nd Swim Class test, BSA Swim test, and Webelos Aquanaut Badge.

Fees: $6 per scout/test;
$10 per scout/2 tests

SWIM LESSONS
The YMCA offers a wide range of swimming options for the whole family. Swimming builds self-confidence and develops the whole person-spirit, mind and body. Classes are divided into ability groups and trained instructors emphasize personal safety, swimming skills, endurance and social skills, while guiding students with praise and encouragement.
Private/Semi-Private
(Age 3 and up) Ideal for apprehensive or swimmers with specific needs. Get the individual attention you or your child needs. Experienced certified instructors will work with you one-on-one to accomplish your specific goals. 30-min lessons scheduled by appt. only. Private &
semi-private lessons are offered in groups of 4, 6 or 8. Choose a group of 8 lessons for the price of 7.

Skips
The parent/child classes are taught as a combined class with the parent accompanying the child in the water. Skills are introduced at the child’s development level and build on each other as the child progresses. Basic water skills are taught through fun songs and games. Classes are 30 mins.

Parent & Pike
(Ages 2 1/2-4 years) No swimming experience required. For the child who isn’t ready to be without their trusted adult in the water. Children adjust to water and develop independent movement. Teaches basic stroke and kicking skills, floating and pool safety. 30 mins. Pike level class.
PRESCHOOL CLASSES
(Age 3-5)
Children must turn 3 by start of session.
Pike
(Beginner). No experience required. Child should be comfortable in water w/o parent. Children adjust to water and develop independent movement. Teaches basic stroke and kicking skills, floating and pool safety. Personal floatation devices are used. Classes are 30 mins.
Eel
(Advanced Beginner) For children who are comfortable in water and able to swim 10 yards on front and back with flotation device. Children are taught to float, kick, and perform progressive arm movements across the pool. Personal flotation devices may be used. Classes are 30 mins.
Ray
(advanced) Participant should be comfortable with face in water and able to swim 25 yards, front and back with assistance. Reviews and improves stroke skills on front and back. Introduces breaststroke and elementary backstroke, builds endurance and teaches treading water skills. Classes are 30 mins.
YOUTH
(Age 6 & up)
Child must turn 6 by start of session.
Polliwog
(Beginner) For those uncomfortable or inexperienced in the water. Teaches basic water skills, front crawl with face in water, floating, backstroke and breath control. Classes are 45 mins.
Guppy
(Advanced Beginner) Participant must be comfortable in the water and able to swim 20 feet front crawl and backstroke without assistance. Continues teaching front and back crawl; introduces breaststroke and elementary backstroke and breathing while swimming. Classes are 45 mins.
Minnow
(Intermediate) Participant should be able to swim 25 yards front crawl with face in water and 25 yards backstroke. Teaches refined strokes from lead-up strokes learned in Guppy, and introduces sidestroke. Classes are 45 mins.
Fish
(Advanced) Participant should be able to swim 25 yards backstroke, breaststroke and front crawl with rotary breathing. Refines breaststroke, teaches butterfly, open turns and improves other strokes. Classes are 45 mins.
ADULT CLASSES

Y Swim Lessons ADULT
(Age 13+) You’ve waited long enough! Get over that fear or tune up your swim skills with a 45-minute lesson geared toward your level of comfort and ability. Quality lessons taught by caring and patient instructors.
Stroke Clinic
(Advanced, Age 6-17) Participant must be able to swim laps continuously in various strokes. Designed for the swimmer that is looking for a swim team workout without the swim team commitment. Classes focus on stroke technique, turns and endurance building. Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly techniques are refined and improved. Emphasis is placed on development through positive reinforcement. Classes are 45 mins.
