The YMCA health and wellness programs are developmentally appropriate and help people at any stage of life build positive health habits. Participation in YMCA programs offers youth and adults opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, increased self-confidence and improved mental abilities. Low/Moderate Step AerobicsThis class involves fun choreography to improve muscle tone and cardiovascular health. Suggested for all levels of fitness. Location: Gym
Free Bible StudyStudies will focus on “Jesus the Great Teacher,” the importance of prayer and the New Testament. Location: Northeast Teen/Senior Room
Chair Aerobics/SilverSneakers®This class is specially designed for Active Older Adults. In this class you will work out your body from head to toe, with exercises you can feel comfortable doing. So go ahead and try something new! Your body will love you for it. Location: Gym
Yoga Stretch/SilverSneakers®This class is for Active Older Adults. Tone the body and tune the mind. Learn to be calm, focus your energies and regain inner peace, while improving physical strength. Breathing exercises and relaxation techniques are specific to older adults.
Swing Out, Two Step & Line DancingHave a great time learning the latest dance moves. Dance moves and turns are some of the most unique in the community. SilverSneakers®This preventative exercise program enhances the quality of life for mature adults across the country. Health Care Dimensions (HCD) developed the SilverSneakers® Fitness Program 10 years ago, and it has since grown into the largest senior-focused exercise program in the United States. The partnerships between HCD and HMOs allow Medicare-eligible members of these health plans to participate in YMCA programs at no additional cost.
