Dance

(Ages 2-adult)
Come join us in our NEW, state-of-the-art dance studio (with parent viewing area), located in the NEW Youth Center. Our philosophy is to provide children with the fundamental techniques of dance, while creating a fun and nurturing environment. Each child is able to experience success, gain self-confidence and most important ... have fun! Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Hip Hop classes available.

Gymnastics

(Ages 2 & up)
Gymnastics encourages kids to try new things. It builds strength, flexibility, coordination and balance. This is a noncompetitive program that incorporates group warm-ups with small group instruction on all Olympic events: beam, bars, vault and springboard, and tumbling as well as some other fun equipment (rock wall, rings, ropes, etc.)

8-Week Winter Session:  Jan 5-Feb 28
11-Week Spring Session:  March 2-May 23

NEW! Pop Stars

(Ages 8 & up)
This is our newest performing arts class with a taste of musical theatre. Come learn how to train your voice to sing popular top 40 pop music. Hip Hop dance and routines will be taught in progression. Students will get the opportunity to perform at our Spring Recital in May.

Cheer-Nastics

(Ages 5 & up)
This NEW Cheerleading program will cover many aspects of cheer, tumble, gymnastics and dance. Our classes will introduce beginners to the sport of cheerleading and teach basic cheers, jumps, gymnastics, dance, and tumbling moves in a noncompetitive environment.

Additional fee required for cheer uniform and recital. Our spring 2009 session starts the week of Jan 5, and will culminate with our spring recital in May. The spring session also includes hands-on cheer experience cheering at two YMCA events on Saturday mornings.

NEW! Creative Art

(Ages 3-10)
Come join the fun in our newest program as we explore the Picasso in your special someone. Students will follow a theme, work their fine motor skills, and expand their listening skills, work in groups and experiment with crafts, murals, sculpting, painting, clay, chalk and much more! 3-year-old students will require parent participation in class.

Racquetball for Kids

(Ages 9 & up)
Kids, don’t miss this opportunity to play this really cool game. You will learn basic rules, shot selection, technique and much more. Monthly clinics are held on Saturdays 12:00pm-1:00pm. Instructor provides racquet and ball, if you don’t have your own. Safety goggles are required for participation in class; please purchase before the first class. Limit 4 per session.


Kids Yoga

(Ages 7-13)
Yoga is for kids, too! Children will learn how to build strength, flexibility and mind focus. Beginning poses are introduced in a fun, creative environment.

Tae Kwon Do

Learn how to develop physical and mental strength. Taught by Karl S. Baltz, Sr., 3rd-degree Black Belt, and our staff of black belt instructors.

Developmental Tae Kwon Do

(Ages 4-6)
This 40-minute class teaches the fundamentals and techniques in a fun, noncompetitive environment. All students will be at the white belt level and will progress to our belt testing system when they turn 7.

Sessions:  Run quarterly and start Jan 3, April 1, July 1 and Oct 1
Classes: Meet once a week on various days and times.

Babysitting Class

(Ages 11-15)
Class Days/Times: Friday, Jan 30 or Friday, March 6 , 5:00pm-9:00pm
Cost: $25 ($5 nonrefundable fee to the YMCA when you sign up and reserve your spot in class, and $20 payable to Cypress Creek EMS at the time of the class)
Location: Family Activity Center

Fee includes pizza for a meal break. Space is limited to 20.

NEW! Y-MUSIC

(Ages 2-10)
This 45-minute class will introduce kids to the world of creative movement and music. This class combines various movement activities with singing and the use of some great musical instruments.

NEW! Baton Twirling

(Ages 6 & up)
Basic baton twirling techniques will be taught with drill team style routines and marching techniques. Great hand-eye coordination and confidence builder.

NEW! Fit Kids Club

(Ages 5-13)
This program gets kids MOVING and MOTIVATED! This cutting-edge Fitness Center is for “Generation G” (gamers), and comes with some of the most sought after, technology driven, interactive fitness equipment that gets kids “hooked” on exercise through the utilization of gaming and scoring!

Kids not only receive individualized attention from a certified YMCA Fit Kid’s coach, they are given constant motivation and general health lessons to help them lead a healthier lifestyle. Program includes: interactive cardio equipment, balance equipment, strength training equipment specially designed with the needs of this age group in mind. Orientations are required for participation in the Fit Kids Club. The most important factor is FUN!

Classes are included with a full family membership; parents must check kids in and out.

Fit Kids Club Hours (Ages 8-12): Jan 5-June 6, Monday-Thursday 4:30-7:30 pm, Saturday 9:30-11:00 am.
Little Kids Club (Ages 5-7): Jan 5-June 6, Tuesday & Thursday, 5:30 pm.
Join the Club Orientations: All kids must go through a 1-hour orientation.

NEW! Micro Tennis

(Ages 6-11) Micro Tennis is a recreational program for youth who are nontournament players or who have never played tennis before. It is a form of singles play, but without traditional serving and scoring.

Teams of 3 players are grouped according to ability level and age. Instruction and matches will be played on short courts at the YMCA’s NEW Youth Center. With the guidance of certified USPTA tennis pro Christie Borne and staff, your child will learn basic ground strokes and test their skills!

Kids Night Out

Here’s a great opportunity for the kids to have a fun night at the YMCA while the parents have a fun night out.

The 3rd Saturday of every month from 5-9pm.

(Ages 3-9, child must be potty-trained), Participate in our Kids Night Out while youth ages 10-15 can participate in SNAC Saturday Night At the Creek. All participants will get the opportunity to participate in FUN-themed events and activities.

Cost: 
Facility Member: $20, $10 each additional child
Program Member: $30, $15 each additional child
