Older Youth Strength Training - Level 1
(Ages 12-15) Class takes youth through the proper etiquette, training technique, and safety in the weight room and cardio room, and teaches basic exercise principles, fitness terms, muscle groups, flexibility and much more.
A study guide/packet will be given to each participant and a test will be administered at the end of the 1.5-hour course to insure that participants grasp the concept of the responsibility that comes with working out in our Wellness Center.
Class Days/Times: Mondays 5:30-7:00 pm or Thursdays 4:30-6:00pm, or Saturdays 10:00-11:30 am.
Location: Registration and classes are held in the Main Building.
Cost: Members only, $5 nonrefundable registration fee to hold your spot in class.
Older Youth Strength Training - Level 2
(Ages 14-16) For those that have been through and passed Older Youth Strength Training -Level 1, and are ready to move into more advanced training techniques and free weights.
Class Day/Time: Meets once, on the 4th Friday of each month, 5:30pm-7:15 pm
Location: Registration and classes are held in the Main Building.
Cost: Members only, $5 nonrefundable registration fee to hold your spot in class.
Off Campus PE
(Grades 6-12, minimum age 12) For those looking to earn their Public School PE credits through the YMCA Off-Campus Physical Education program. Students simply sign up at the Welcome Center and go through an orientation with a PE Coach, which includes fitness assessment, course outline, and fitness program/schedule and log-in procedures.
Must meet with their coach 3 times each semester and participate/work out in physical fitness activities a minimum of 5 hours per week (which will be logged into our FitLinxx® system) to earn their PE grade for the semester. Please sign up for the spring semester 2009 to start earning your spring semester PE credit hours.
